SIEMENS realized the need to not only upskill their workforce, but to fundamentally transform them into intrapreneurial leaders who could rapidly respond to changing market conditions and customer needs.
They engaged LUMAN to jointly develop the strategy and the curriculum of the bootcamp program, and to provide master trainers to engage and develop their participants.
The award winning program has been running for nine years, has generated multiple products, patents and innovation disclosures, developed 600+ people and impacted thousands in 30+ countries.
Innovation capabilities direly needed in business units
Tools to quickly assess business opportunities and trends for viability
Personal development required to use innovation methods and to build the resilience required to drive corporate innovation
We tested and evolved the intrapreneurial bootcamp with several different formats: first physically, then virtually, and finally hybrid.
Siemens has deployed bootcamps globally over nine years, four continents, across multiple business divisions, with clients and with recent acquisitions.
We have trained 600+ employees from 40+ nations in the leadership capacities, methods, and processes required to identify and act on Siemens aligned opportunities.
In the bootcamp rapidly forming teams explore customer problems through interviews while learning design thinking and lean business methods. In addition, employees become intrapreneurial leaders capable of building and maintaining teams.
Siemens even investigated intrapreneurship as a employee development track and is exploring how to scale the program more widely.
Multiple products were developed and are in the market. In one bootcamp alone eight patents and innovation disclosures originated. 95% of participants report an increased focus on innovation and impact.
An internal study at Siemens showed that one participant in our program in average influences about ten people in their home department in how they work. Many go on to take innovation positions.
